'Medium' by David Brooke

The boy studied literary history over a period of thousands of years, from Homer to Virgil, to Shakespeare, to Milton, to Joyce. He wanted to know what inspired the romantics angered the realists and confused the modernists. But all was in vain. All he saw was that time was the common theme and he deduced that he was only seeking what was his time.
